The Cat(s) Came Back

Published: September 21, 2009

We've all heard about the cat who came back "the very next day." Well, we find that to be true around here a lot. Over the years, we've seen employees come and go whether they are servers, cooks or dishwashers. Many of the employees that have left us have left to go to school and start their careers. Not surprisingly, during their time here they have developed a taste for their favorite Dysart's food, and when they are in the area, they inevitably return for a little sample of their favorite Dysart's guilty pleasure.
A perfect example: A few years ago, we had a server working here named Alan. (I won't use his last name, but you know who you are, Alan!) During his time with us, he found that he LOVED what we call Mystery Mocha Pudding. Alas, after working many late-night shifts Alan went off to college. And then came back. Not to work, but to get some Mystery Mocha Pudding! Now each time he's in town for a visit, he calls and we make sure we have Mystery Mocha Pudding available for him. Alan's is just one of many stories we have of people leaving us and then coming back every now and then for their favorite taste of Dysart's.
If you've never tried our Mystery Mocha Pudding, you should. You may not have heard of it. After all, it's usually only on the menu in the fall. Combining a brownie-like cake mixture with the great taste of coffee...how could you go wrong??? If you want to try to make it yourself, the recipe follows. Otherwise, we'll plan on seeing you this fall at Dysart's for Mystery Mocha Pudding. Enjoy!
